Determining the Course

There are several courses you can take in a match of equal forces.

One is playing mainly defensively, counteracting what your opponent forces you to do.

Another is to play mainly aggressively and force your opponent to defend.

And yet another, perhaps more intelligent, is to combine both to maximize efficiency during the course of each point.

Study your opponent and how you match up against him.  Use your best against his worst.
